Our PI, Catherine Herfeld, gave a talk on model transfer and its challenges in science at the University of Kansas on November 5th, 2025.

The talk was held as part of the workshop “From Biology to Economics and Back: Internal Conflicts and Collective Agency Across Disciplines.” The workshop offered insights into a specific case of model transfer. It was attended by biologists, economists and anthropologists that are actually engaged in transferring concepts and models from economics into biology and vice versa to understand how organisms deal with internal conflicts.

Catherine’s talk introduced a conceptual framework for understanding model transfer as model construction process, along with insights from her research on challenges to progressive model transfer. Greatly inspiring!
