Catherine Herfeld gave a master class on modeling and model transfer in the social science at the University of Zurich, which took place on December 11th and 12th. Two days of exciting discussions with PhD students from philosophy and the social sciences about questions such as what models are, what’s transferred in model transfer, what challenges to model transfer could be, and whether those challenges prevent model transfers from leading to progress.
