Edoardo Peruzzi participated as moderator in the session “Limits and Applicability of Models”, part of the Uncertainty Workshop held on May 14, 2025, at the University of Zurich.
The session brought together scholars to reflect on how scientific models function under conditions of uncertainty, complexity, and incomplete information. Speakers in the “Models of the World” session addressed the limits of modeling in fields such as climate science and medicine. Edoardo Peruzzi guided the discussion between Joachim M. Buhmann (ETH Zurich), Mathias Frisch (Leibniz University Hannover), and Tarja Knuuttila (University of Vienna), focusing on the conceptual and methodological challenges that arise when models are applied beyond their intended scope.
